Introduction
The CCAF Course Conversion Tool is an online resource that allows service members to convert their military training into college credits.
Benefits
Air Force Senior NCOs now have a new way to receive college credit for their experience and training. The CCAF Course Conversion Tool allows Airmen to convert military training courses into college credit hours.
“This is a great opportunity for Airmen who want to continue their education while they’re still in the Air Force,” said 1st Lt. Christopher Dempsey, 82nd Training Wing Staff Judge Advocate.
The CCAF Course Conversion Tool is available through the Air University’s eLearning website and allows Airmen to convert military training courses into college credit hours. The tool is designed to help Airmen save time and money by giving them the opportunity to receive college credit for their military experience and training.
“The CCAF Course Conversion Tool will allow me to get my degree much sooner than I thought possible,” said Tech Sgt.
How it works
The Air Force is constantly making changes to ensure that its members are getting the best training and education possible. In an effort to provide more flexibility for Airmen, the CCAF Course Conversion Tool (CCT) was created. The CCT allows Airmen to convert courses from other branches of service and civilian institutions into CCAF credit.
The process is simple. First, identify the course you would like to convert and find out what CCAF equivalent it matches. Once you have determined the equivalency, complete the CCT Request Form and submit it to your unit education office. Your request will then be processed and you will be notified of the outcome.
The CCT is a great way for Airmen to get credit for the courses they have already completed, as well as explore new educational opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
What is a CCAF degree equivalent to?
CCAF degree holders often wonder what their degree is equivalent to. There is no one answer to this question since the equivalency of a CCAF degree depends on the institution and program to which it is compared. However, there are a few resources available that can help CCAF degree holders determine the value of their degree.
One such resource is the CCAF Course Conversion Tool. This tool allows users to input the title of their CCAF degree and see a list of potential civilian equivalents. The conversions are based on information from the Department of Education and other sources. However, it should be noted that the tool is not exhaustive and may not include all possible civilian equivalents.
Another resource for determining equivalency is the American Council on Education (ACE). ACE provides academic credit recommendations for military training and experience.
How do you calculate CCAF credits?
CCAF credits are awarded for college-level courses that have been approved by the Air Force. The number of credits that a course is worth is based on the amount of time that the course meets, not the amount of work that the student completes.
One credit is usually awarded for each 50-minute class meeting, or for each hour of lab time. For example, a 3-credit course that meets for 150 minutes per week would be worth 6 CCAF credits.
Some courses may be worth more or less than 1 credit, depending on how much material is covered. For example, a course that meets for 3 hours per week might be worth 2 credits instead of 3.
Credits can only be earned by taking courses at accredited colleges and universities. Online courses and CLEP exams are not eligible for CCAF credit.
Is CCAF a real degree?
CCAF is an online degree program that has been around for over 10 years. It is offered through the University of Phoenix and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The program offers students the opportunity to complete their associate’s degree online, without having to attend a physical campus.
How do I transfer my CCAF credits to college?
CCAF students may be wondering how their credits will transfer to a college or university. The first step is to find out if the school you are interested in attending is CCAF-affiliated. If it is, then the credits will either be accepted as-is, or there may be a process for converting your CCAF credit hours into semester hours at the new school.
If your chosen school is not CCAF-affiliated, you may still be able to transfer some of your credits, but it will depend on the individual institution’s policies.
No matter which route you take, always start by contacting the admissions office of the school you want to attend and asking about their specific requirements.
Can I still get my CCAF after I separate?
CCAF courses are available to active duty military and veterans. If you are no longer on active duty, you may still be able to take some of the courses required for the CCAF. Contact your local education office for more information.
How do I get an unofficial CCAF transcript?
An unofficial transcript is a copy of your official CCAF transcript, but it is not stamped or signed by the Registrar’s Office. To get an unofficial transcript, you will need to provide your name, CCAF number, and date of birth.
The quickest way to get an unofficial transcript is to order it online. You can order an unofficial transcript through the Joint Services Transcript (JST) website. There is a fee of $10 per copy for transcripts ordered online.
If you are unable to order an unofficial transcript online, you can request one by mail.
How long does it take to complete CCAF?
It typically takes 18 to 24 months to complete the CCAF degree, depending on how many courses a student takes at once. There are a variety of ways to complete the degree, so it’s important to speak with an advisor to create a plan that works for you. Some students choose to study part-time and finish in four years, while others take accelerated courses and finish in less than 18 months. No matter what path you choose, the CCAF degree is an excellent way to show your dedication and commitment to your country.
