Army Sexual Harassment Assault Response & Prevention (SHARP) Recertification Course is offered to Army personnel annually to update their knowledge of SHARP and prevention techniques. This 8-hour course covers sexual assault response and prevention, federal resources, victim assistance, command climate, and complaint processes.

The Purpose of the SHARP Recertification Course
Army sexual harassment assault response and prevention (SHARP) recertification courses are important tools to help commanders identify and mitigate sexual assault in their units. The purpose of these courses is to ensure that commanders have the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to allegations of sexual harassment, prevent sexual assault from occurring, and provide support for those who have been assaulted.
The SHARP recertification course consists of eight modules covering topics such as legal aspects of Sexual Harassment (LAW-1102), investigation procedures for Sexual Assault (LAW-1101), victim assistance (LAW-1103), risk assessment and management for Sexual Assault Prevention & Response (LAW-2002), emergency management for Sexual Assault Response (LAW-2004), assailant interviewing techniques (LAW-2003), and special considerations for Military Police units (LAW-2005).
The SHARP Recertification Course Curriculum
Army Sexual Harassment Assault Response & Prevention (SHARP) Recertification Course Curriculum is designed to provide soldiers and civilian employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, respond to, and prevent sexual harassment in the Army. The course includes modules on military justice, victimology, prevention, response, and investigative procedures.
The SHARP Recertification Course is mandatory for all soldiers who are subject to sexual assault investigations by their commanding officer or other authority figures. It is also required for all civilians working in a position that could involve interacting with soldiers subject to sexual assault investigations.
The SHARP Course was recently updated with new modules on gender-based violence prevention and response in environments of conflict.
